One of the best fishing poles in World of Warcraft is the Big Iron Fishing Pole. Anyone who wants to max out their fishing ability is going to need it at one point.

It only comes from one place and that is inside the cage traps on the ocean floor near the Horde town on the West coast of Desolace. If you head out near the town there (the area is green and grassy unlike the rest of Desolace) and go into the water directly west of the dock and swim down you will find traps littering the ocean ground there. When you open them you will either find shellfish, spawn a mob, or…get this rare fishing pole.

I was able to find 2 of these in a fair amount of time and guess what? They sell on my AH for over 25 gold! A map will be included within the next update.

To start gathering Ghost Mushrooms in World of Warcraft you will need to have the herbalist skills. Your Herbalism level should be around level 245. Ghost Mushrooms are located in a little cave called Hinterlands. This guide can be used by both Alliance and Horde characters. You can easily gather about 10-25 gold per hour. Your character should be at least level 44, the higher the better however. The mobs in the cave are level 46-48.

Hunting Grounds:
Simply put, SKULL ROCK, in the Hinterlands. Consult the provided map below in order to get to Skull Rock. Note that the entrance to the cave is on the north side, and faces the river… even though the map makes it seem like the cave opens to the south.

Get to at least level 5 and learn the herbalism profession. Already we know that Herbalism is a very money ridden profession, and with that, comes the idea that with just a little effort, you can be rich with only a few hours work. This works the best if you are the Undead race, but also will work as Human, or Tauren. Like stated before, be sure to pick up the herbalism profession (and for added bonus, go with mining).

Now if you do go with herbalism, stick with Find Herbs most of the time, as the herb we are looking for sells more then copper at the lower levels. From this point we are now going to travel outside of the newbie area, and into the real world in search of, yes, you guessed it, silverleaf. Silverleaf is EXTREMELY abundant in the early and second areas of the game, but even more abundant in the Undead and Human areas.

Why this is I’m not sure, but after farming only one stack of silverleaf, you can sell it on the Auction House for as much as 1gold 25silver. Yes, for only at most 10 minutes work, 1g 25s for a level 10. Too good to be true? Well, the lowest I’ve seen silverleaf go for is 85s, so still even then, at that level anything over 20s is a lot, believe me, I know. You don’t even need a map for this, as with the “Find Herbs” trait you can easily find those abundant silverleaf no matter where you are. All but some servers may have a more crippled economy in the lines of silverleaf, give it a few days and watch the price skyrocket.

his is a simple tip on how to make money at low level. Would be easier if you were an Orc or Troll because of their starting location. Orcs and Troll starts in durotar, for other races you will need to travel a bit further but it should all work pretty well.

You will need to become a Journeyman miner and purchase a mining pick to begin. Durotar has the highest number of copper veins so would be the most ideal place. Once you’ve collected a good amount of copper ore, return to the forge and smelt them. Once your copper ore is turned in bars, follow the path from Razor Hill north to Ogrimmar and then head to the auction house. Talk to one of the auctioneers and set price to 40 silver for buyout and make the price 45-60 silver per 20 copper bars. I’ve seen stacks of copper bars go for 4g but avg seems more around 80s-1g. Be sure to check the prices in the AH first before listing. This is an ideal way to make money at low level. Below is a map of Durotar.

Mining in World of Warcraft is one of the best gold makers. Just be sure to sell your stuff in the Auction House in smelted stacks. The Buy Out option is one of your best advantages when you sell so make sure you use it. It’s usually best to smelt copper and tin into bronze or vice Versa. Be sure to check the going price and figure out if selling the bases or the product will sell for more.

Lower level mining skill of course wouldn’t make you as much as being on top of the chart and we know it may be a little difficult or frustrating to level. It may take about 1 hour to get to tin level so its not too bad. However tin is a little more aggravating. Near ashenvale there is a place with harpies that has a few nice spots. From there stick to the wall and go south, head over to South Barrens. Go around Scorpid, Bristleback and Razormane and you should be able to level your tin in no time.

Mithril is the key to making the most World of Warcraft gold. Engineering and Blacksmiths both need massive amounts to produce the items with their skills. Mithril usually sells off extremely fast a nice price in the auction house.

In southern Kalimdor you’ll find Tanaris, a level 40-50 zone. There are many mineral ores that will make you filthy rich. You can start at Gadgetzan and cut across the desert to start. Be sure to check all the rocks and croppings along the way. The place is dangerous with alot of spawns. Travel along the edge, and then back along the outter boundary circling the map. Thistleshrub valley also has a few hot spots along with Un’Goro crater, Zul’Farrak and the areas close to Gadgetzan. Mining mithril may be a bit hard at low level, but the having the copper and tin will help you get some extra gold to spare until higher level. If you’re level 50 you should be able to farm mithril fine.

Most guides written are for higher level players, but here’s a neat way for lower level characters to make some easy gold. You’ll need to be around Level 20 or so for this one. You should be able to make anywhere from 50s-1g per fish selling on the AH. Very easy to make 50g per day – even at a low level!

Whether you play Horde or Alliance, see if you can get your character into the Barrens. If you’re an Alliance player, be careful of going too near the guards in the towns. It’s not difficult to run through the Barrens from either Ashenvale or Thousand Needles or even Ratchet.Just be wary of the Horde guards.

Let’s get into making some gold.

Getting the Recipe

First up, you’ll need a recipe to learn how to cook the Savory Deviate Delight. The recipe is a random drop throughout the Barrens. Try killing Razormanes, Venture Co. Drudgers, Great Barrens Kodos, Zhevras, Plainstriders and Hyenas. If you’ve got the patience, you’ll eventually get the recipe to drop.

If you don’t have the time or patience to grind for the recipe, then you can buy a recipe on AH – but be warned. It’s not cheap.

Now you have the recipe, it’s time to go fishing.

Getting the Fish

Your fishing skills should be around 50 if you’re using bait or around 120 if you’re not using bait. Once in the Barrens, travel to either the Forgotten Pools or the Lushwater Oasis. These two tend to have the highest drop rate.

The Stagnant Oasis will also drop Deviate Fish, but be a little more careful here as there are more mobs to fight off.

The other place worth fishing is the Wailing Caverns.

Effects

If you eat the Deviate Fish you catch, your character will spontaneously break into dance or wave a random people. The raw fish can also stun you for 30 seconds or bless you for 30 minutes. The most fun side-effect of eating a raw Deviate Fish was receiving the buff “Party Fever”. My character randomly laughed, clapped and did the chicken dance!

If you cook the Deviate Fish with Mild Spices, you end up with Savory Deviate Delights. These are not only fun, but they’re a great way to make some quick gold on the AH. The Savory Deviate Delights sell really well on most servers because they’re fun.

Here are some of the events a Savory Deviate Delight have been known to cause:

Yaaarrrr – turns you into a pirate for 60 minutes
Flip Out – turns you into a ninja for 60 minutes

By Lee aka Ashlinel (Aman’Thul)
